China started with a victory

IHF Men’s Emerging Nations 3rd Championship has started in Sports Palace, Tbilisi, Georgia.
In the first match of the tournament China beat Columbia 28:25.

In the begining Columbia played well, but then China found their game and soon they took lead- 6:5. China played more balanced, whereas from Columbia, their best player Sebastian Restrepo was trying to catch up with their rivals. First halt ended 10:10.

After the break, China took the advantage, and they were ahead until the end. However, Columbians only once had a chance to tie the score.

From China, Lee Xaopeng was named as a Best Player, with 8 goals.

Restrepo Sebastian – It was a really tough firs game, we were really nnervous. We had young players on the field. We were working very hard, we had not stopped the training for the championship, especially the last 2 days were crazy. Our team’s strongest part would have been playing one against one, I would rate our game with 7.

Yao Sujie – First of all we are glad to win this game. I wish that our team could do the best in the future competitions. In the first half the reason of the draw was that we did not send the main players in. And our team players are younger than the other.
